You may want to check your firewall for policies regarding IMAP. Some reference links I read thru though I don't fully understand all of what is being discussed. I have not tried the add-on yet I am going to experiment. Stack Exchange network consists of 183 QA communities including Stack Overflow, the largest, most trusted online community for developers to learn, share their knowledge, and build their careers. My VPN was working in the background, even though the file was closed. That means that Mail app fully connected to server , asked for statuses, but not displaying anything.

To resolve the IMAP issue, I will explain different solutions in the upcoming reset cached Exchange mode section of the article. To set up a mail account, we can set the same standard name "mail.mydomain.com" as the incoming and outgoing mail server. I was a little hesitant but went ahead and let it completely remove all the synced items from the account off of my iPhone.

Maybe some encoding behavior or just a different linefeed or something that has changed over the recreate Outlook profile step by step years... I’ve never heard of setting a path before for email, so apologies if this is a simple solution to those who come across this in the future. If you can, turn off IMAP, require 2FA, and use the native outlook client. Having the same issue with some of our accounts on IMAP as well.
Chosen solution
I don't see - 'When getting new messages... I checked all 5 of the tabs in this window that expressions is not there. This seems bizarre the email would not populate. The uploading of the old messages to the new account is what caused the problem. I will try the safe starts and experiment with the buttons ans see if it improves.
My accounts in Mail app stopped to sync post update
I am using TB for just three weeks now and I have issues daily Outlook OST vs PST repair when sending mail with no attachments the outgoing mail server will time out. Since the sync issue is universal it appears to be a global issue. Perhaps something in TB needs to be tweaked. I have no firewall monitors running during the day that would interfere just the vpn. With that said - the "delayed syncing" issue that I am experiencing is happening on Inbox as well as Junk folders.

Just a few seconds after sending, my phone will show that I have a new message on my IMAP, but currently I have been waiting 10 minutes on my Outlook (2 send and receives) and no email listed yet. If an IMAP Inbox isn't displaying new messages as they arrive at the server, but only when the Inbox is selected, there is something wrong with the setup. Run TB in safe mode (hold Shift when you launch TB) and see if it makes any difference. Note also that when you click Get Messages, only the currently selected account is checked; click the drop-down to check a specific account or Get All New Messages (Shift+F5). The setting isn't present for folders that are automatically checked, such as Inbox.
- The problem can be caused by either improper settings or a damaged send/receive group within Outlook.
- Microsoft, gmail and other popular accounts should sync automatically, but if they don't, I'm inclined to think it's due to the VPN or a security/antivirus app that is scanning the TB profile folder.
- I checked on web mail here it is.one account is configured on two computers, one is configured with POP & second is IMAP.
- If you can go to another folder then right back to Inbox and suddenly see 100 new messages, they were there all along, they didn’t just magically appear in that second it took to switch back and forth.
- One other thing I would check for is corrupted OST files.
- Everything works great for the most part, except with our IMAP users.
- Ok so my mistake the Properties option is there when right clicking folder - I was only focused on right clicking on the email address to take me to server setting I was not clicking on the actual folder.
I deleted the Apple Mail app from the phone, reinstalled from the App Store. It's just a little bit technical, but we have an IMAP proxy that chooses from some different backend IMAP servers. If the user account ends up on an old IMAP server implementation (in that case f.i. a Cyrus imapd 2.4.17), IMAP Client of iOS 18 Mail app doesn't work.
If the proxy directs requests to a newer IMAP server implementation (f.i Cyrus imapd 3.6.1), the iOS 18 Mail app works as expected, even the requests are handled by the same IMAP server proxy. Suspect some Apple Dev's have been lazy with some code in IOS18's mail.app and its causing the issue. Decided to just try completely removing my Gmail account, the one that wasn’t syncing with the Mail App after the iOS 18 update. I know this is not very helpful, but we ran into exactly the same issues as you with one of our clients using Outlook 2010/Win7 and Godaddy’s IMAP mail and never truly figured it out.
We only have a handful of people who use the their email across multiple devices at the corporate office. Just a question - why not look at office 365? Mailbox only support is like $6 a month or less, and it is proper exchange, enabling better syncing etc. You should look at your Outlook desktop client settings to review the default synchronization schedule and tweak anything you can to get it to poll Google's IMAP servers more frequently. I access the IMAP servers from 3 different machines, and they all see the changes from each other. The problem is that the some changes are not reflected in the Gmail web app.
