After a minute, it was removed so just went and re-added it and BOOM. One other thing I would check for is corrupted OST files. Turn off cache mode, delete or rename the OST file, and then turn cache mode back on.

I also went ahead and uninstalled the email scanning portion of our Antivirus to check as well. I have an email problem that has been plaguing me for some time now and I have so far been unable to find a resolution. EDIT - the folder check add-on is for older versions of TB. mailbox not updating on IMAP

I have several email accounts / IMAP set-up. So looking at my tree of FixTechGuide support for Office 365 email accounts one inbox might have 10 mail total and 3 unread form earlier. It's not until I click on that folder I will then see the 10 and 3 and two second later it will sync and new ones will populate. The issue is; just looking at my email accounts and the numbers shown next to the folders I cant tell if there is new mail or not until I click on them.

Chosen solution

I have all desktop alerts turned off I prefer it this way I don't need all of that. I just want to be able to look and see new message. Even if I have an account with zero message I need to click to see the new ones there are no numbers appear. I am also running QuickFolders and its the same nothing shows up on those tabs until i physically click on them. Ok so my mistake the Properties option is there when right clicking folder - I was only focused on right clicking on the email address to take me to server setting I was not clicking on the actual folder. I right click a folder and Properties and it take me to attached windows.

My accounts in Mail app stopped to sync post update

After instalation ios 18 all my accounts in mail app stopped to sync( including icloud mail). I can only recive mails but when I delete mails on macbook they are not deleted on iphone. During the initial startup of Outlook, it will send and receive and get new work offline mode stuck mail. But if I leave my email open with the inbox selected, it will not populate any new mail items. In this article, I have explained various ways to solve IMAP folders are not syncing.

It will synchronize deleted items if I delete an item from my phone, but it just wont receive new ones. IMAP accounts should update automatically on send/receive. Otherwise why even have the ability to auto-sync? If I need to click on each folder to force the sync/download from server then auto sync serves no purpose. When you are accessing Gmail via the web application everything is hosted on Google's cloud servers.

  • This limits the amount of network traffic and improves performance for syncing important folders.
  • We only have a handful of people who use the their email across multiple devices at the corporate office.
  • These methods help you in the synchronization process.
  • Full cleanup of ALL accounts is not a solution(and re-add even helps not).
  • My comment about 3rd party email -- is a 3rd email app called Email - Edison Mail (from the App Store) I set up my mail accounts in the app and everything works as it should.
  • From what I’m reading, this doesn’t actually appear to be an issue with receiving email, it’s an Outlook screen refresh issue, or possibly (although less likely) an issue with notification settings.
  • So, here are the solutions you solve the problem of the IMAP folder not syncing.

I deleted the Apple Mail app from the phone, reinstalled from the App Store. It's just a little bit technical, but we have an IMAP proxy that chooses from some different backend IMAP servers. If the user account ends up on an old IMAP server implementation (in that case f.i. a Cyrus imapd 2.4.17), IMAP Client of iOS 18 Mail app doesn't work.

IMAP folder sync issue in the new Outlook (moved emails not syncing to webmail)

If the proxy directs requests to a newer IMAP server implementation (f.i Cyrus imapd 3.6.1), the iOS 18 Mail app works as expected, even the requests are handled by the same IMAP server proxy. Suspect some Apple Dev's have been lazy with some code in IOS18's mail.app and its causing the issue. Decided to just try completely removing my Gmail account, the one that wasn’t syncing with the Mail App after the iOS 18 update. I know this is not very helpful, but we ran into exactly the same issues as you with one of our clients using Outlook 2010/Win7 and Godaddy’s IMAP mail and never truly figured it out.

Everything works great for the most part, except with our IMAP users. IMAP users are not receiving new email into their inboxes unless they either click off of Inbox and back on, or close outlook and reopen. These are the common reasons why the IMAP folder is not syncing.
