I have seen this disparity for years across different Outlook client versions and Windows versions. I also posted on FixTechGuide email error solutions the Gmail subreddit about a year ago.

Maybe some encoding behavior or just a different linefeed or something that has changed over the resolve Outlook not sending emails fast years... I’ve never heard of setting a path before for email, so apologies if this is a simple solution to those who come across this in the future. If you can, turn off IMAP, require 2FA, and use the native outlook client. Having the same issue with some of our accounts on IMAP as well.

So my Junk folders do not have that box checked, but the Inbox doesn't have a box to be be checked - their behavior is the same they are both not syncing, until I manually click on them to force the sync. Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.

  • We only have a handful of people who use the their email across multiple devices at the corporate office.
  • Furthermore, when calendar invites are accepted using the Outlook client, they disappear from All Mail and go into the Trash folder, but when using WebMail, they remain in the Inbox.
  • These methods help you in the synchronization process.
  • Full cleanup of ALL accounts is not a solution(and re-add even helps not).
  • From what I’m reading, this doesn’t actually appear to be an issue with receiving email, it’s an Outlook screen refresh issue, or possibly (although less likely) an issue with notification settings.
  • I went to a bunch of online TLS tests and the mail server is fine and the certificates are trusted...

Hence, the trashing of messages is registering on Gmail. It's just that the contents seem completely disconnected from what I see using webmail. All messages that were trashed in Outlook still appear in All Mail when accessed using webmail, even days later. From what I’m reading, this doesn’t actually appear to be an issue with receiving email, it’s an Outlook screen refresh issue, or possibly (although less likely) an issue with notification settings. If you can go to another folder then right back to Inbox and suddenly see 100 new messages, they were there all along, they didn’t just magically appear in that second it took to switch back and forth. Try attacking it from that angle and see what you find.

If I click off of inbox and down to sent item, then click back on inbox, all of the new mail will populate. The problem can be caused by either improper settings or a damaged send/receive group within Outlook. At first, I was thinking it may be an issue with certificates, but it's not... I went to a bunch of online TLS tests and the mail server is fine and the certificates are trusted... So only wait when some "smarties" from apple IT solve problem in app ... Apple programmers use no CD/CI - simple sometimes update by "sales-manager requests", and without any critical-bug-checks ...

These methods help you in the synchronization process. If this does not work, you can contact your email provider. After that, it is also important to secure your IMAP folder to prevent this issue from happening in the future. So, properly follow the above steps and backup your data from IMAP folders. I am aware of the difference between Gmail's labels vs. Outlook's folders, but I would expect that Gmail does what is necessary to make the folders appear correct over the IMAP connection to Outlook. For example, if I drag a message from Outlook's All Mail folder to Trash, I see that message disappear from the Inbox folder after a short delay.
